Dengue fever.
Understand dengue fever or red fever.
Dengue fever, formerly known as tropical flu, red fever, or small malaria, is a viral infection that is endemic in tropical countries. Dengue fever is a benign arbovirus disease transmitted to humans through the bite of an Aedes daytime mosquito, which is infected with a dengue virus of the family flaviviridae. Sick people are the main reservoir of viruses, and there are 4 types of dengue virus. Dengue viruses 1, 2, and 4 are present in West Africa.

Symptoms
This viral infection typically causes flu-like symptoms (fever, headache, muscle and joint pain, tiredness, nausea, vomiting) and rash. Biologically, platelets are usually decreased. Recovery usually occurs within a week. There are rare and severe forms of hemorrhage or shock syndrome that can lead to death, but in Africa, no fatal cases of Dengue have yet been reported.

Diagnosis.
Diagnosis is difficult because the picture is often equivocal and may resemble something else such as malaria, influenza, or another arbovirosis. Not every flu we treat may be a real flu, and we need to be careful every time, especially when the flu is accompanied by nausea, vomiting, and a rash.
Treatment.
—There is no vaccine or specific antiviral treatment yet, but several vaccines are in development, some of which are close to commercialization (ongoing phase III clinical studies). Management is with symptomatic treatment with fever and pain medication.
—Rest and warm up.
—Take hot herbal teas and vitamin C.
