Habitat:
It is a tree native to Africa that is found in the Sudanese and Guinean zones, but it is becoming more and more rare outside the Guinean zone.Tree from 30 to 35 meters in height can reach more. The bark is grayish and cracked. White latex turns brown as it ages. The trunk is straight, cylindrical, and elevated. Single, alternate, largely oval or oblong, finely toothed leaves with a short tip at the top. Small golden hairs appear on the young stems. The flowers come out before the foliage on the old twigs. They are greenish in color and have stamens pressed against each other on flat rectacles with turned-up edges. The fruit is a velvety drupe, greenish gray becoming red when ripe. Its length is about 1.5 centimeters, containing a seed inside.
